STATA Bird Glass CE Workshop on 5/23/26

Bird Glass Continuing Education Workshop
Facilitated by Wanda Montemayor at CommunityArts

This 2.5-hour workshop will focus on healing-centered engagement—a framework that moves beyond trauma-informed care to support resilience, connection, and collective meaning-making through art.

Participants will:

  • Identify and apply core principles of healing-centered engagement within community-based art therapy settings

  • Explore clinical and community applications of large-scale, collaborative art as a tool for regulation, connection, and post-trauma growth

  • Engage in an experiential process by creating a glass mosaic bird, contributing to a larger public installation that reflects collective healing, remembrance, and community resilience

Workshop Details:

  • Date: Saturday, May 23

  • Time: 1:00 – 3:30 PM

  • Location: CommunityArts - 11402 Joy St, Austin, TX 78748

  • Cost: FREE for STATA members, $50 for non-members

  • 2.5 CEU hours

This workshop offers both professional development and meaningful participation in a community healing project, where the process of creating alongside others is central to the work.
